Thirsty Thursday #03 Book covers that make your pulse jump

Thirsty

“Thirsty Thursdays” is an original weekly feature from Lazy Book Lovers where we highlight all that makes our mouth water in the world of books. Every week, they  pick either a quote, book cover, book boyfriend or kiss from our favorite books, that makes us all swoony.

This week, its all about that special book cover that make our pulse jump

Son of Neptune

This week, I’m picking Rick Riordan’s Book Two of the Heroes of Olympus, The Son of Neptune. In this adventure, Percy Jackson wakes up after six months of sleeping, remembering only two things, his name and “Annabeth”

I’ve read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and have seen Percy through the years. I was literally blown off my shoes when I saw this cover. I didn’t expect the little boy to have grown up and become an excellent leader. I love how he rises from the cold waters of Alaska bearing the Roman Legion’s Standard. How after months of having amnesia and being lost, he now finds himself again. Kudos to artist John Rocco for perfectly capturing Percy’s growing strength and  experience. Who wouldn’t want to be led by Percy Jackson? Oh, and the graecus doesn’t have just the moves, he’s also got the looks!

If you want to know more about Rick Riordan and Percy Jackson, visit Camp Half Blood here. For John Rocco’s works, visit Roccoart. And check out Keira’s and Nikky’s pick at the Lazy Book Lover’s Thristy Thursday.  My friend Camille at Girl Meets Books has her Thirsty Thursday pick too!

What about you, what’s your pick?

  1. Why haven’t I read this series yet or any of the book by this author? hehe 🙂 Great pick Lorn! 🙂

  2. I have yet to read Percy Jackson, but want to so badly. I’ve seen the first movie and thought it was good, though, I’m guessing the book is a million times better. Nice pick!

    Thanks so much for participating!!
